Cookies policy

In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 29733), its amending regulation (Legislative Decree No. 1353), and its Regulation (Supreme Decree No. 003-2013-JUS), the Kantaya Association (hereinafter referred to as “Kantaya”) informs the user who intends to access the portal (hereinafter referred to as the “Portal”) of the following aspects related to the use of Cookies and the processing of their personal data upon first entry to the portal:

  1. About this Cookie Policy

1.1 This Cookie Policy (hereinafter, the “Cookie Policy”) describes the conditions under which Kantaya will process certain personal data it collects or obtains from the User through its own cookies or those of third parties simply by accessing and/or browsing the Portal.

1.2 Therefore, the user must carefully read this Policy and, only if in agreement with it, click on the “Yes, I accept the Cookie Policy” checkbox. By accepting this Cookie Policy and clicking on the aforementioned button, it will be understood that the user has granted Kantaya their prior, informed, express, and unequivocal consent to process their personal data obtained through its own cookies or those of third parties.

1.3 Such personal data is necessary to access the Portal and browse it without any restriction; therefore, if the user does not consent to its processing, they may still access the Portal, but may not be able to fully browse it and/or may not be able to view all the information contained therein.

  1. Scope of the Cookie Policy

2.1 For the purposes of this Cookie Policy, when referring to “User” or “Users”, we mean all those individuals who intend to browse within the Portal.

3.1 Cookies are files that a website or application installs on the browser or device (computer, smartphone, tablet, smart TV, or similar) when accessed or during the visit to certain web pages or applications, and they serve to store information about the user’s visit.

Cookies allow for the storage of certain data about the user’s device or browsing, i.e., they collect statistical information, facilitate certain technical functionalities, show which pages have been visited, the connection time, the city to which the IP address from which access is made is assigned, the number of new users, the frequency and recurrence of visits, the visit time, the browser, the operator, or the type of terminal from which the visit is made, analyze the operation of a page, detect technical problems, among others; and depending on the information they contain and how the user uses their equipment, they can be used to recognize the user the first time they visit the website or application in question. Most cookies are associated with a user, a computer, and/or an unidentifiable device in the sense that they do not provide references that allow personal data to be known. A browser only allows a website to access the cookies it sets, not those set by other websites.

3.2 Kantaya uses the following types of cookies:

A) By purpose

  • Technical Cookies – Allow the user to navigate the website, platform, or application, as well as the use of the different options available on them.
  • Geolocation Cookies – Identify the user’s location.
  • Customization Cookies – Allow access to a service depending on the user’s characteristics, such as language, type of browser, among others.
  • Analytical Cookies – Measure website activity to create navigation profiles for improvements.
  • Advertising Cookies – Help manage advertising offers, adapting the content to the user-requested service.

B) By duration

  • Session Cookies – Gather and store data while the user accesses a website. They are not stored on the computer or device and are deleted when the user closes the browser or their session expires.
  • Permanent Cookies – Data is kept stored on the user’s computer or device as a history. They are processed when the user leaves the website and can be deleted by the user.

C) By management

  • Third-Party Cookies – Sent from a third party’s device or domain to the user’s computer or device, or the information collected is managed by a third party. It should be noted that third-party cookies may be found within the GEC websites and applications; however, since they are not managed by us, we do not guarantee that their policies comply with current legal regulations.

3.3 Kantaya may use the information collected through “Cookies” for the following purposes:

  • Use of “Cookies” or other technologies to access the Portal.
  • The “Cookies” or other technologies will identify and analyze User behaviors on the Portal, in order to identify irregular acts, prevent fraudulent activity, and improve the security of Kantaya’s systems.
  • Through cookies, Kantaya may use information about the user’s visit to the Portal to conduct evaluations and statistics, to allow for the continued operation of the Portal and make future improvements to it.
  • Analyze the browsing habits of the User and the searches performed by them, in order to provide personalized content (including advertising).

3.4 Cookies can be deleted from the hard drive if the User wishes. Most browsers automatically accept cookies but allow the User to change their browser settings to reject cookie installation.

3.5 Kantaya may process the information collected through the Cookies provided on the Portal, as long as the User gives their consent to do so when they first enter the Portal. If the same User returns to the Portal through another device, computer, or browser, or using a different IP number than their first visit, they may be asked to accept this Cookie Policy again, as our systems identify them as a “new” User.

3.6 Kantaya reserves the right to modify, update, or complete this Cookie Policy at any time, which will be interpreted complementarily with our Privacy Policy (available at the following link: Therefore, any modification made to this Cookie Policy will be immediately published on the Portal.

3.7 This Cookie Policy comes into effect as of January 15, 2021, and will remain in force until it is expressly modified by Kantaya, or until the Portal is definitively closed.
